Qualtech Products Industry Surface Tension Meter is a precision Automatic Du Noüy Ring Method Surface Tensiometer to measure the Surface Tension and the Interfacial Tension of liquid samples in accordance with the Du Noüy Ring Method at the touch of a button.

This automatic Du Noüy Ring Tensiometer measures the Surface Tension of Single-Phase Samples and the Liquid-Liquid Interfacial Tension of Multi-Phase Samples with the Ring Method including Oil against Water Samples, Adhesives, Paint, Coatings, Lacquers, Printing Ink and related samples.

In addition, this Digital Surface Tension Meter is suitable for quality control in industrial productions including Electroplating.

This professional Du Noüy Ring Method Surface Tensiometer is designed and engineered offering the newest microchip technology combined with a large Color Touchscreen Display, graphic presentation of Sample Tests and Sample Test Results, a precision engineered Du Noüy Ring, Automatic Temperature Compensation, Automatic Calibration, High Accuracy and High Precision, a user-friendly Menu Navigation, a user-friendly Application, user-friendly Sample Handling, integrated Sample Test Data Memory, integrated Direct Printing, an ergonomic Design, reliable Performance and much more.

This Automatic Du Noüy Ring Surface Tensiometer is engineered to:

  • measure the Interfacial Tension between Oil and Water according to the Ring Method including the Interfacial Tension of Petroleum Products and Water, the Liquid-Liquid Interface Tension
  • evaluate the Interfacial Tension between Mineral Oil and Water, the Liquid-Liquid Interface Tension
  • analyze the Surface Tension of Liquid Samples with Gas Samples, the Liquid-Gas Interface Tension

This professional Du Noüy Ring Surface Tensiometer is designed and engineered in accordance with International Test Standards including:

Surface Tension Meter - Du Noüy Ring or Wilhelmy Plate:

The Du Noüy Ring Method and the Wilhelmy Plate Method are both used to measure Surface Tension with high precision, however, the Du Noüy Ring Method relies on a precision engineered Du Noüy Ring and the Wilhelmy Plate Method relies on a precision engineered Wilhelmy Plate:

The Du Noüy Ring Method measures the force required to detach a precision engineered Platinum Ring which is called Du Noüy Ring from the surface of a liquid. This force is related to the Surface Tension of the sample liquid.

During the Du Noüy Ring Surface Tension Measurement the precsion engineered ring is pulled sowly upwards and the maximum force before detachment is measured.

The Wilhelmy Plate Method measures the force exerted on a precision engineered thin Platinum Plate which is called Wilhelmy Plate which is partially immersed into the smaple liquid.

During the Wilhelmy Plate Surface Tension Measurement the Wilhelmy Plate is suspended slowly vertically and the force exerted by the sample liquid on the Wilhelmy Plate is measured. This force is directly proportional to the surface tension.

While both methods measure the Surface Tension automatically with high accuracy at the touch of a button, theWilhelmy Plate Method is usually preferred when more flexibility, highest accuracy and the measurement of sample with Dynamic Surface Tension and changing Surface Tension are required.

In comparison, the Du Noüy Ring Method is ideal for fast and general Surface Tension Measurements, however, errors might occur occasionally due to the liquid mensicus when the Du Noüy Ringb is pulled.

While both methods provide valuable surface tension measurements, the Wilhelmy Plate Method is generally considered more accurate and versatile, particularly for Dynamic Surface Tension Measurements.
