Le Izod Impact Strength Test was invented by Mr Edwin Gilbert Izod in 1903 and is similar to the Charpy Impact Strength Test.

The pivoting Pendulum Arm is released and impacts on a specified sample to determine the Résistance aux chocs. The energy which is absorbed by the sample is calculated from the specified height the Pendulum Arm is released.
