Il Automatic Fabric & Textile Burst Strength Tester QPI‑FBS8800 performs a controlled Hydraulic Bursting Test in accordance with international textile and material standards. The procedure below outlines the operational sequence used in professional laboratories to obtain bursting strength e burst distension values with high repeatability.

 

1. Preparation of the Instrument

  1. Power‑up and System Check The operator activates the Automatic Fabric & Textile Burst Strength Tester QPI‑FBS8800 and allows the control electronics, pneumatic clamp module and hydraulic system to complete their internal diagnostics. The large Color Touchscreen Display presents system readiness, pressure zeroing and additional test parameters.

  2. Hydraulic Medium Verification The hydraulic chamber is filled with the hydraulic mixture. The system automatically purges micro‑bubbles to ensure a consistent and stable pressure transmission.

  3. Diaphragm Installation A calibrated Synthetic Rubber Diaphragm is mounted onto the Diaphragm Seat using the dedicated tightening wrench.

 

2. Sample Preparation and Mounting

  1. Specimen Conditioning Samples are conditioned according to the relevant standard including temperature, humidity and relaxation time.

  2. Selection of Measuring Head The operator installs the appropriate measuring chamber (e.g., 7.3 cm², 50 cm², 100 cm²). The QPI‑FBS8800 automatically recognizes the head type and adjusts internal calibration parameters.

  3. Pneumatic Clamping The specimen is positioned over the measuring aperture. The pneumatic clamp engages with a controlled pressure profile, ensuring uniform fixation without slippage or edge distortion.

 

3. Test Configuration

  1. Method Selection The operator selects one of the supported test modes:

    • Constant Rate

    • Constant Pressure

    • Constant Distension

    • Timing Mode

  2. Parameter Input Test sample test parameters including pressure ramp rate, maximum allowable pressure, distension limit and break detection sensitivity are conveniently entered via the touchscreen.

  3. Zeroing and Calibration The pressure transducer and distension sensor are automatically zeroed. The system performs a short pre‑compression cycle to stabilize the diaphragm.

 

4. Execution of the Bursting Test

  1. Hydraulic Pressurization The hydraulic pump begins delivering fluid at the programmed flow rate. Pressure is transmitted through the diaphragm to the underside of the specimen.

  2. Real‑Time Monitoring The instrument continuously records:

    • Applied pressure (kPa)

    • Diaphragm displacement (mm)

    • Pressure‑time curve

    • Distension‑time curve

    The illuminated test chamber allows visual observation of fabric deformation.

  2. Data Export Results can conveniently be exported to a PC or printer. The included PC software offers batch analysis, statistical evaluation and report generation to share within your team or with clients.

  3. Quality Verification If required, the operator may run a cross‑mode diaphragm strength check to validate membrane performance before continuing with additional samples.

 

6. Post‑Test Procedures

  1. Cleaning and Inspection The measuring head and diaphragm seat are cleaned to remove any debris from ruptured samples.

  2. Diaphragm Replacement (if needed) The system alerts the operator if the diaphragm has reached its usage limit or shows signs of fatigue.

  3. Preparation for Next Sample The instrument resets all sensors and returns to standby mode, ready for the next test cycle.
