1. Rockwell Hardness Test Method (HRA, HRB, HRC)

Principle
El Rockwell test measures hardness by determining the depth of penetration of an indenter under a specific load. Your handheld tester automates this process using microchip‑controlled force application.

How It Works
Initial Contact (Minor Load)
The indenter (diamond cone or steel ball) is brought into contact with the material using a small preliminary force. This establishes a zero reference point.

Major Load Application The tester automatically applies the major load.
The electromagnetic feet stabilize the device so the load is applied perfectly perpendicular to the surface.

Penetration Measurement
The microchip measures how deep the indenter penetrates under the major load.

Hardness Calculation
The tester instantly calculates the Rockwell hardness value (HRA, HRB, or HRC) based on the penetration depth.

2. Brinell Hardness Test Method (HBW)

Principle
The Brinell test measures hardness by pressing a hard spherical indenter into the material under a controlled load and then analyzing the diameter of the resulting indentation.

Indenter Placement
A hardened steel or carbide ball is pressed into the material surface.

Load Application
The tester applies a controlled force for a defined duration.
The electromagnetic feet ensure the instrument does not shift during loading.

Indentation Measurement

Hardness Calculation
Brinell hardness is calculated using the standard formula relating load, ball diameter, and indentation size.
