Abrasion Wear Resistance Test Results are expressed by the Volume of Abrasive Sand necessary to penetrate the surface coating. A wide variety of Abrasive Powders are used with this Falling Abrasive Wear Tester to determine the Abrasion Wear Resistance of surface coatings including Silica Sand and various grades of Silicon Carbide Powders. A Sieve System is used to ensure the same type and size of Abrasive Grains is used throughout your sample tests offering a high repeatability. Silica Sand usually presents a slower rate of wear and abrasion when testing organic coatings.
