1. Purpose and Scope
This procedure describes how to determine the dynamic viscosity in centipoise (cP) for paints, coatings, oils, and other Newtonian or near‑Newtonian fluids using the Portable Viscometer QPI‑PRV3800. The method follows the general principles of digital rotational viscometry, adapted for portable field and laboratory use.
2. Equipment and Materials
Portable Viscometer QPI‑PRV3800 with calibrated spindle
Stainless‑steel sample cup with smooth interior and defined geometry
Temperature‑controlled environment (recommended: 25 ± 0.5 °C)
Lint‑free wipes and compatible cleaning solvent

3. Preparation
