Overfladespændingsmåler - Du Noüy Ring or Wilhelmy Plate:

Det Du Noüy Ring Method og Wilhelmy Plate Method are both used to measure Overfladespænding with high precision, however, the Du Noüy Ring Method relies on a precision engineered Du Noüy Ring og Wilhelmy Plate Method relies on a precision engineered Wilhelmy Plate:

Det Du Noüy Ring Method measures the force required to detach a precision engineered Platinum Ring which is called Du Noüy Ring from the surface of a liquid. This force is related to the Overfladespænding of the sample liquid.

Under Du Noüy Ring Surface Tension Measurement the precsion engineered ring is pulled sowly upwards and the maximum force before detachment is measured.

Det Wilhelmy Plate Method measures the force exerted on a precision engineered thin Platinum Plate which is called Wilhelmy Plate which is partially immersed into the smaple liquid.

Under Wilhelmy Plate Surface Tension Measurement det Wilhelmy Plate is suspended slowly vertically and the force exerted by the sample liquid on the Wilhelmy Plate is measured. This force is directly proportional to the surface tension.

While both methods measure the Overfladespænding automatically with high accuracy at the touch of a button, theWilhelmy Plate Method is usually preferred when more flexibility, highest accuracy and the measurement of sample with Dynamic Surface Tension and changing Surface Tension are required.

In comparison, the Du Noüy Ring Method is ideal for fast and general Surface Tension Measurements, however, errors might occur occasionally due to the liquid mensicus when the Du Noüy Ringb is pulled.

While both methods provide valuable surface tension measurements, det Wilhelmy Plate Method is generally considered more accurate and versatile, particularly for Dynamic Surface Tension Measurements.
